The Boleyn Gesture

{June 4, 2009}   Hoowooduhhthought?

That prices would be going down? I guess it makes sense, that if people don’t have much money they won’t buy anything unless it’s on sale, but I’ve noticed a cost decrease in golf equipment… I actually just got 40% off of a new set of Callaways… Jeez I tell you what, there’s nothing like a new set of golf clubs, esp. iron sets… I mean, a bitchin’ new driver is one thing, but you only get to take it out about a dozen times per round since it’s a tee-only club. You hit the hell out of irons during ANY round on ANY course. Any experienced golfer will tell you that he/she would take a great approach shot over a great tee shot on any par 4+ hole…

I also love the feel of a perfectly struck iron shot… that razor-blade feeling and all that control… it makes me ol’ ticker skip a beat sometimes if the sun’s out and the breeze picks up just right, and there’s just enough beer in me to forgive myself for a poor shot (or more so, a series of them…) without affecting the muscle memory of my swing.

{May 24, 2009}   oooh! yo’ face!

Protect it… from everything

Including the sun. That’s why whenever I’m going to be out in the sun (especially for hours out on the links) I always wear a golf hat. They are engineered to keep my head cool and keep my face in the shade, because we all know the sunblock can only go so far. Also, who wants all that oily crap on their face? However, I’m not saying that a good, high S.P.F. sun protecting lotion isn’t something you should carry with your other golf equipment, I’m just saying that staying in the shade is your best option. So get a nice, wide-brimmed hat and keep your face and neck free from sunburn and god forbid, skin cancer…

{July 31, 2008}   Sun in your eyes?

Putts going wide?

Shanking pitches more than usual?

Drives straying into the rough?

Maybe you need a golf cap. It’ll keep that pesky sun out of your eyes and allow you to spot your ball, line up shots easier, and provide for a more successful, fun golf experience!

Also, golf hats are unscientifically proven by me to reduce the risk of sun cancer. Gotta love that

I hope you already have your gift for Dad ready! If not, you might want to consider golf shirts, or golf hats to keep dad looking sharp out there on the course!!

Happy Fathers Day to all you dads out there!!!
