The Boleyn Gesture

{June 4, 2009}   Hoowooduhhthought?

That prices would be going down? I guess it makes sense, that if people don’t have much money they won’t buy anything unless it’s on sale, but I’ve noticed a cost decrease in golf equipment… I actually just got 40% off of a new set of Callaways… Jeez I tell you what, there’s nothing like a new set of golf clubs, esp. iron sets… I mean, a bitchin’ new driver is one thing, but you only get to take it out about a dozen times per round since it’s a tee-only club. You hit the hell out of irons during ANY round on ANY course. Any experienced golfer will tell you that he/she would take a great approach shot over a great tee shot on any par 4+ hole…

I also love the feel of a perfectly struck iron shot… that razor-blade feeling and all that control… it makes me ol’ ticker skip a beat sometimes if the sun’s out and the breeze picks up just right, and there’s just enough beer in me to forgive myself for a poor shot (or more so, a series of them…) without affecting the muscle memory of my swing.

{May 24, 2009}   oooh! yo’ face!

Protect it… from everything

Including the sun. That’s why whenever I’m going to be out in the sun (especially for hours out on the links) I always wear a golf hat. They are engineered to keep my head cool and keep my face in the shade, because we all know the sunblock can only go so far. Also, who wants all that oily crap on their face? However, I’m not saying that a good, high S.P.F. sun protecting lotion isn’t something you should carry with your other golf equipment, I’m just saying that staying in the shade is your best option. So get a nice, wide-brimmed hat and keep your face and neck free from sunburn and god forbid, skin cancer…

Well, I’m as happy as a pearl crappin’ clam in the 50’s, and do you know why? because the winter’s grass-killing grip is finally letting up and it’s time to hit the links for another season of great golf. But before the courses open and all I can do is hit orange range balls into a big, empty field of snow, I’m going to outfit myself with some new golf equipment
. And instead of putting the snow tires on to drive into town, I’m going to order my new Taylormade irons online to be delivered to my house. Sure saves on gas and convenience, and since I won’t be able to use them for another couple of weeks anyways, I have time to shop around on various websites and save money by shipping ground.

Boy, I can’t wait till the snow drains off and those golden green pastures peek out to enjoy the springtime with the rest of us!

{February 16, 2009}   Please Pray for my Aunt

I’d like to take this time to express my deepest sadness for my Aunt Melody… she works at an exhibit company called Expo3 and basically keeps the place running and the exhibit builders don’t know what to do without her
… she recently learned that she has a tumor on her lung and we’re not sure what it is yet or what will happen from here… Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers :-/

I’ve been trying to come up with a way to summarize what an exhibit company does. First of all, it’s comprised of custom exhibit builders who design, fabricate, manufacture, transport, construct, and de-construct the custom exhibits that you see at trade shows, conventions and such. They do a much better job than could be done in-house by the company that they represent. This means all the client has to do is keep making their great product, and the exhibit specialists will handle everything else that needs to be done on the trade show circuit. Sounds like a good service to me!

{November 24, 2008}   Time to Ride AGAIN!

Well, riding season is finally here! The sun isn’t scorching the deserts so it’s time to hit the dunes! If you ride Polaris, I found a website that sells all kinds of fully customized and totally cool Polaris accessories, including Polaris exhaust. And as always, shopping online is easy as pie! Order today, since it’s too hot to ride THIS weekend, and have everyone drooling over your bike NEXT weekend!

{November 23, 2008}   On second thought…

I realize now that Taylormade drivers AND Taylormade irons are a lot to ask for on Christmas when we all have plenty of people to buy for… so I’d be happy just to get the irons. After all, the driver I have now works well enough… so spread the news!!

{November 22, 2008}   Christmas is almost here again!

If I got to pick out my own gifts, I’d present myself with new Taylormade drivers and Taylormade irons for the birthday of birthday of Baby Jesus. Since the weather has been nice and my school schedule is pretty lax this semester, I have a lot of great opportunities to play so I’d use the clubs often! Please someone, get them for me!!!

{October 29, 2008}   Riders Block, Pt. 2

Here’s the original post: I remember a time when “writers block” was nothing more than a big block of wood in the back of a pick-up truck to carry passengers across the ranch. Now the verbal term is a shortage of creativity, where you must write, but you cannot.

I suffer from this as I try to write this article about trade show displays. Since it’s been a few years since I’ve been to a show, I’m a bit out of touch when it comes to custom exhibits. If I don’t come up with something soon, I’m going to have to find a trade show…somewhere… and get some inspiration!

Here’s my update: I FINISHED IT! aren’t you all proud of me? writers block never lasts tooo long… usually just before something needs to be finished, everything i need pours out of me :-)

{October 28, 2008}   ahhhhhhhhhh, the feeling.

There’s really no feeling like that of riding a bike that’s just been decked out with newYamaha Rhino parts and customATV exhausts

The feeling of wind pressure in your chest…

The vibration and powerfully loud sound of the engine taching out beneath you…

The feeling in your stomach as you, against all good judgement, shift up and pull on the throttle and feel the bike take off underneath you…

ahh.

Open-air motor vehicles :-)
